Very witty, satirical essay. Has great appeal. Unfortunately, those who need to read it most will be the ones least likely to do so.
Regarding the statement "Now according to the International Rules of Indigenous Peoples, subsection Apparently-We-Made-This-Up-Yesterday, that should have been the end" it should be noted that there is actually a UN document which sets out who is entitled to be indigenous and what rights accrue therefrom. It is called The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
According to UNDRIP (a most inelegant title if ever there was one):
A. A people who have maintained an unbroken presence on their ancestral territory,
B. Who have not ceded that territory (something Israeli Governments are seriously contemplating at the urgings of "impartial" nations)
C. Who live outside this territory
still maintain:
a. Their indigenous identity,
b. Those who live outside the territory a right to their indigenous identity
c. A right to return to their ancestral territory,
d. An enduring right to that indigenous territory.
I loved this! I am not Jewish but this made me wish I was. It summed up all I had read/heard over the years and I was laughing to myself at how brilliant this piece is. Thank you. Yep no one has the right to object to Israel.
